Committees and Auxiliary Groups
Education
It is the mission of the Education Committee to provide a forum for the development of an excellent educational program which links our children to their Jewish heritage and fosters in our children a life-long commitment to Jewish values and continued learning. We hope to encourage on-going review and innovation so that our programs continue to provide a dynamic, integrated educational, spiritual and social experience.
Caring
The Lake Norman Jewish Congregation now has a Caring Committee to help support congregants during time of personal need. These needs may include meals, respite, errands, transportation or whatever specifically the congregant may require as the result of a happy or sad occasion (e.g., birth, illness or death). Please contact us or leave a message at 704-987-9980 to discuss how we can help you most.
Traditions
The Traditions Committee is responsible for working with and advising the rabbi on matters of tradition and ritual, including planning all the holiday celebrations, discussing and advising about the religious concerns of the congregation. These duties include reminders about yahrzeit dates, ordering and placing memorial plaques, acquiring ritual objects etc. Additionally the committee oversees preparations for services including set up and clean up of the services location and works with the Rabbi regarding refining and enhancing the content of the services.
Social Action
The LNJC Social Action committee supports and benefits the congregation and provides charitable support to meet the constant needs of the LKN community through projects and programming along with interfaith partnerships for the purpose of creating a greater awareness of LNJC’s impact within the LKN community.

Sisterhood The LNJC Sisterhood welcomes your talent, your participation, your skills, and your input into making our Congregation grow and prosper. Yes, we need your membership dues and assistance in raising funds for – and providing “those little extras” for our Religious School and our Congregation. But there is so much more:
Sisterhood is planning an exciting year of stimulating speakers, programs, field trips, social get-togethers, and even cooking demonstrations. That is why we welcome your ideas and your participation.
Brotherhood
Brotherhood strives to support our members through friendship and increase the participation of men in synagogue activities. When you join, we know you will meet friends and find activities you will enjoy. We invite you to become part of Brotherhood. We look forward to hearing your ideas.
Membership
The Committee reaches out to Jewish families in the community who are seeking affiliation in an effort to promote an awareness of the many ways in which the LNJC can enrich their lives. Committee members maintain contact with new members, introduce them to the clergy and the lay leaders and familiarize them with all aspects of the congregational life. This committee also maintains all communication with current membership.
Davidson College Jewish Student Union - Hillel
We are so blessed to have 60 Davidson College students participating in LNJC life. We look forward to welcoming them and their families as part of our community.
